What is Emergency Management Institute (EMI) Independent Study Program?

The Emergency Management Institute (EMI) Independent Study Program comprises of self-paced courses created for both the general public and people who have emergency management obligations. They are provided free-of-charge to all who are eligible for enrollment, and college credit can be taken via a for-fee service after successful accomplishment of a course.

Every Independent Study Course comprise of lessons with practice exercises and a final examination. Those who achieve 75 percent or more are delivered a certificate of achievement from EMI. Course completion duration ranges from two to fourteen hours, which is dependent on the course and the student's background.

Independent Study Programs are imparted via internet and are open to the general public and requires no review or exception. Courses vary from those taught in EMI's Residential Education Program.
